Oa Terms of Service

Published: October 22, 2026 · Effective: October 29, 2026

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) set forth the conditions for using Oa (the “Service”), provided by Designbase (the “Operator”), and the respective rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the Operator and users in connection with the Service.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. Service means the application and related web services through which parents and caregivers can record and review an infant’s daily activities and development and use related statistics, summaries, reminders, and family collaboration functions.
  2. User means a person using the Service in accordance with these Terms, including a person using available features without an account.
  3. Member means a User who connects an account through a supported method, such as Google sign-in, to use account-based features.
  4. Child profile means a record associated with a child that connects the child’s name, date of birth or expected date of birth, photograph, and childcare records within the Service.
  5. Family sharing means a feature allowing invited accounts to view or manage a specified child profile or associated records in accordance with assigned roles and permissions.
  6. Content includes the Service’s interface, designs, software, calculated statistics, and User-generated records, photographs, and posts.
  7. Optional features means functionality whose availability may vary by build, environment, or configuration, including family sharing, community features, advertising, and affiliate displays.

Article 3 (Availability, Acceptance, and Changes to the Terms)

  1. The Operator makes these Terms available within the Service or on a linked website so Users can review them.
  2. Before enabling account-based features, the Operator informs Members of material terms and obtains any contract acceptance required. Acceptance is requested in the account connection flow. Publication alone does not renew earlier acceptance.
  3. The Operator may amend these Terms for reasonable reasons, including regulatory or operational changes. It will communicate the revised provisions, effective date, reasons, and relevant impact through an appropriate Service notice or other applicable method.
  4. Notice periods, direct communications for materially unfavorable changes, and any requirement to obtain renewed acceptance must comply with applicable law and reflect the actual significance of the change. Ordinary changes are announced at least seven days before application. Material or unfavorable changes are announced at least 30 days in advance through the website or app, with individual notice where required. Any different mandatory legal procedure takes precedence.
  5. Silence is not automatically treated as agreement to every amendment. A User who disagrees may stop using the affected features or request account closure.
  6. Changes to processing of personal information are governed separately by the Privacy Policy and any applicable notice or consent requirements.

Article 4 (Service Features and Scope)

  1. Depending on availability, the Service may include:
    • Child profiles, due-date information, and post-birth records;
    • Formula, breastfeeding, expressed breast milk, complementary feeding, and snack logs;
    • Sleep, diapering, bathing, activities, milestones, temperature and health notes, and growth measurements;
    • Statistics, summaries, growth tracking, badges, and reminders derived from records;
    • Account-based synchronization and permission-controlled family sharing;
    • Community features, childcare tools, or affiliate product information only when actually enabled.
  2. Availability may differ depending on operating system, device, app version, connectivity, account status, and selected permissions or consents.
  3. The Service is currently designed and operated as a free service without direct user payments, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. The Service may display advertising or affiliate links. Transactions entered into with external sellers—including purchase, payment, shipping, and refunds—are subject to those sellers’ terms. The Operator does not represent itself as the seller for such transactions.
  4. If paid features are introduced later, the Operator will disclose pricing, terms, withdrawal and refund rules, and establish the necessary contracting process before they apply.

Article 5 (Offline Records and Account Synchronization)

  1. The Service may permit Users to store childcare records locally on their devices without signing in.
  2. Local records may be lost through app removal, device reset or failure, operating-system changes, or changes in application storage. Recoverability depends on the particular storage and backup configuration.
  3. After account connection and completion of the legally required privacy steps, eligible local profiles and records may be synchronized to the Member’s server account, subject to ownership and linkage checks. Certain prenatal practice records may be excluded.
  4. The Operator does not arbitrarily transfer profiles or records belonging to another Member’s account to a new account.
  5. Use without signing in does not mean that every optional feature—such as advertising, public catalog access, or operating-system services—operates with no network communication whatsoever.
  6. Any local information retained after sign-out or account deletion, and how to remove it, must be separately explained. Signing out may leave local records on the device. Users of shared devices should remove those records separately.

Article 6 (Account Registration and Security)

  1. Members may connect accounts using authentication mechanisms supported by the Service. Social sign-in and account linking may be subject to provider policies and device restrictions.
  2. Members must use credentials they are authorized to use and promptly notify the Operator of suspected unauthorized access.
  3. Users must not use another person’s account or register another person’s personal information without authorization.
  4. The Operator may impose restrictions necessary to address impersonation, security threats, or legal violations. Unless immediate action is needed to protect the Service or others, affected Users will receive timely information regarding the reason and available appeals process.
  5. The Service is intended for parents and caregivers. Direct membership by children under 14 is outside the scope of the Service. The fact that a Member cares for a child does not, in itself, verify legal authority to consent to processing of that child’s personal information.

Article 7 (Children’s Information and Legal Guardian Authority)

  1. Child information may only be submitted by a person lawfully authorized to provide and manage it.
  2. When processing personal information of a child under 14 on the basis of consent, the Operator will obtain the legal guardian’s consent and verify that consent in accordance with applicable Korean law. An invitation, declared relationship, or family-sharing role is not a substitute for verifying legal guardian consent.
  3. Where a caregiver who is not a legal guardian wishes to enter or share the child’s information, a separate lawful authorization process may be required. Where authority is disputed, the Operator may request the minimum evidence needed to establish authority and restrict affected sharing or processing while the matter is reviewed.
  4. Depending on its nature and context, a child’s health-related information may constitute sensitive personal information. Features requiring such processing may be unavailable or restricted without a separate valid legal basis, including consent where applicable.
  5. Users must not disclose another child’s photos, medical information, or other family members’ personal information without proper authority.

Article 8 (Family Sharing and Permissions)

  1. Family sharing permits a User to invite another account to a selected child profile and to grant specific viewing or editing permissions.
  2. Once an invitation is accepted, the recipient may see the child’s profile, a resized profile image, associated records, or limited account-related details, subject to their actual permissions. The information to be disclosed must be explained beforehand, and legally required consent must be obtained.
  3. Invitation codes and links should not be disclosed to unauthorized people. The Operator may provide invitation cancellation and permission-revocation functionality.
  4. Revoking a sharing permission cannot technically retrieve screenshots or copies already separately retained by a former recipient.
  5. Rules for creating, editing, deleting, and assigning shared records—including what happens if the original profile creator closes their account—are governed by the applicable operational policy. Disconnecting a family account limits subsequent access; it does not delete all jointly created records. Closure and deletion requests are handled after checking the child’s rights, the requester’s authority, and other contributors’ rights, and the result is explained.
  6. Family membership alone does not replace consent from a legal guardian, consent for disclosure of sensitive information, or any legally necessary consent for third-party provision of personal information.

Article 9 (Community Availability)

Community features are not included in the current public launch scope. Before introducing them, the Operator will explain visibility, content use and deletion, reporting arrangements, and personal information processing, and complete the applicable procedures. Rights requests concerning test content may be submitted to support.

Article 10 (Reminders, Advertising, and External Links)

  1. Users may receive feeding, sleep, and other reminders they configure, subject to device settings. Operating-system notification permission may be required.
  2. Advertising and affiliate links may be displayed to support the Service. Where advertising involves automatic collection, personalized targeting, or disclosure of personal information to external vendors, the Privacy Policy and any required notices and consents apply.
  3. Promotional communications will be sent only to the extent permitted by applicable law, including obtaining prior marketing consent where required. These are distinguished from User-configured operational reminders.
  4. External websites, merchants, and authentication providers may apply their own terms and privacy policies.

Article 11 (Important Limitations of Records and Guidance)

  1. Users may use the Service as a reference in caring for a child but are responsible for checking their entries for omissions and errors.
  2. Statistics, summaries, badges, growth comparisons, and reminders may be derived from submitted data, settings, or general reference ranges. They do not constitute medical diagnosis, prescriptions, or emergency instructions.
  3. If illness or an emergency is suspected, Users should seek qualified medical or emergency assistance rather than rely on the Service’s calculations or notifications.
  4. The Operator endeavors to improve accuracy and reliability but does not warrant unknown or unreported facts, identical results across all devices, or delivery of notifications at an exact time.

Article 12 (User Responsibilities)

Users must not:

  1. Violate applicable law, these Terms, or the lawful rights of another person;
  2. Access, modify, collect, or disclose another person’s account, child records, credentials, or photographs without authorization;
  3. Abuse invitations through false identities or circumvent legitimate access controls;
  4. Distribute malicious software, exploit vulnerabilities, send disruptive automated requests, or otherwise interfere with reliable operation;
  5. Disseminate content infringing copyrights, portrait rights, reputation, privacy, or other rights; or
  6. Reproduce or redistribute the Operator’s software or content commercially beyond the scope of permitted use.

Article 13 (Modification, Suspension, and Discontinuation)

  1. The Operator may modify or temporarily suspend features for maintenance, security, incidents, legal requirements, or changes affecting outside authentication and infrastructure providers.
  2. Planned interruptions and major changes will be announced in advance when reasonably possible; unforeseen emergencies will be communicated without undue delay afterward.
  3. If the Service is permanently discontinued in a manner materially affecting User records, the Operator will explain a reasonable process for reviewing, exporting where supported, or otherwise handling those records, consistent with applicable law and operational capabilities. Bulk export is not available in every version. Users may contact support to request access to or provision of their records. Closure dates and record retrieval arrangements will be announced before permanent shutdown.
  4. The Operator will not use amendments or changes to unfairly restrict User rights.

Article 14 (Account Closure and Record Deletion)

  1. Members may request account closure through the provided in-app flow or customer support. Account closure and server deletion requests are currently accepted at contact@designbase.co.kr. The Operator verifies identity and authority and responds under applicable law, explaining any lawful restriction.
  2. Removing local records, unlinking an account, deleting server records, and revoking family sharing may produce different outcomes. The Service should explain these differences when presenting deletion choices.
  3. Deletion of synchronized child records must account for other authorized family members, joint authorship, and applicable retention requirements, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  4. Personal information that must be retained by law will be separately maintained for the applicable statutory period and then destroyed. Account closure is not a general basis for retaining records indefinitely.
  5. Available rights-request procedures and contact details are stated in the Privacy Policy.

Article 15 (Intellectual Property)

  1. Rights in software, trademarks, interface designs, and proprietary material lawfully held by the Operator belong to the Operator or their respective rightsholders.
  2. Rights in User-created or lawfully uploaded childcare records and photographs remain with the User or the applicable rightsholder.
  3. Acceptance of these Terms does not give the Operator a general right to sell or use a child’s records or photographs as advertising materials. Such use would require an independent lawful basis and appropriate procedures.

Article 16 (Liability and Damages)

  1. The Operator and Users are responsible for damages caused by violations of applicable law or these Terms to the extent recognized by law.
  2. Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory liability for the Operator’s intent or gross negligence.
  3. Involvement of an external website or service does not relieve the Operator of liability where the Operator remains legally responsible.
  4. The statement that the Service is not a medical service does not unlawfully waive any duty or liability imposed on the Operator.

Article 17 (Inquiries and Dispute Resolution)

  1. Users may submit questions about the Service, records, accounts, and suspected infringements using the contact information below.
  2. The Operator will review submissions and explain any applicable statutory rights or avenues for redress.
  3. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. The competent court will be determined under applicable procedural law, without imposing an unfair exclusive venue on Users.
